About the Role:

This position takes place in a structured 24 hour Level II Residential Facility Program working with youth clientele. Assist the population served in improving their behaviors and meeting their treatment goals in order to become independent. Staff members are role models and actively engage clients served to meet overall behavior goals.

Training & Education Requirements:

  • Training requirements: Agency Orientation, Client Rights, HIPAA Compliance, Blood borne Pathogens, Medicaid Fraud and Abuse, Medication Administration, EBPI, First Aid/CPR, Head Heart and Hands model.


  • Position qualifications: Minimum high school diploma or equivalency. Minimum 21 years of age. Experience working with populations served preferred but not required.



Job Duty Description:


  • Know and understand each client’s treatment needs. Review and contribute to revising treatment plans and implementation. Maintain confidentiality at all times per HIPAA standards.


  • Provide therapeutic care and treatment of all clients equally and effectively according to the standards outlined in the Counselor’s Orientation manual and agency policies and procedures manual.


  • Assist in maintaining the quality of care standards for the facility, vehicles and grounds. Assist in maintaining vehicles and updating the vehicle maintenance logs.


  • Develop and adhere to a written daily schedule and post it within the facility for all staff and clients to follow as applicable.

  • Provide practical leadership in the milieu based on the principles of containment treatment.

  • Follow all traffic laws when driving with clients or using company vehicles.


  • Attend scheduled staff meetings and mandatory training as listed in job requirements section of this job description.


  • Learn, utilize, and model the following tools/modalities for all clientele: Head Heart Hands, Think It Tools and any subsequent program model implemented by the agency.

  • Participate in quality improvement program. Participate in safety program agency-wide including completion of fire/disaster drills, notification of potential hazards, etc.


  • Conduct a minimum of one daily group (status, offense specific daily group) that adheres to the program model as applicable.


  • Prepare nutritional snacks and meals for clients, while allowing clients to assist with cooking as part of life skills training.

  • Assist clients in daily chores, coaching them to perform the chore properly. Assist clients with homework and treatment work during times of study or “brain” time. Actively assist in the planning and implementation of psycho-educational activities.

  • Monitor, observe and provide supervision of the clients.

  • Assist with family visitation and promote healthy relationships between the client and their caregivers.


  • Display good communication and feedback within a team dynamic.

  • Professionalism in all areas of work, including client and co-worker relationships.

  • Staff will assist the clients in continuing education, job placement, obtaining a drivers license

  • Assist client in management of personal finances.

  • Other duties as assigned.
